RUTTENSKALLE, the Old-school Death Metal band founded by Portuguese musician and producer Paulo Soares, has announced a significant addition to their lineup. Fred Brum, a highly talented guitarist known for his impressive solo work and contributions to the Prog/Doom band ETHEREAL, has joined the band as the new second guitar player.
RUTTENSKALLE, with its sound deeply rooted in the Scandinavian Death Metal scene, particularly the Stockholm scene with influences from bands like CARNAGE, NIHILIST, ENTOMBED, and DISMEMBER, has been a notable name in the Portuguese underground metal scene. The band's debut album "Skin'em Alive," released by Gruesome Records on October 31, 2021, received critical acclaim and recognition, including the "Album of the Month" award from Caminhos Metálicos.
This week, RUTTENSKALLE revealed they are working on new material slated for release in Spring 2024. The addition of Fred Brum to the band is expected to elevate their music to new heights. Brum's extensive experience, including his work as a session musician and his solo albums "Atonement" (2011) and "Transcendence" (2014), brings a new dynamic to the band's already strong lineup.
In anticipation of their upcoming release, RUTTENSKALLE has also released a new music video for the song “Destroyer Of The Flesh,” which will be featured on the new album. The video can be viewed on YouTube.
Commenting on his new role, Fred Brum expressed his excitement on social media, stating, "Happy to join this gang of misfits! Make sure you see us demolishing stages in 2024!"
RUTTENSKALLE's music resonates with fans of Entombed, Dismember, Entrails, Lik, and Demonical, and the band's evolving lineup promises to bring fresh energy and creativity to their sound.
