SUEL, a solo-project initiated in 2019 by S.D. (also known for contributions to Nocte Obducta, Crescent, Horresque), has evolved into a formidable force in the world of black metal. The project, rooted in the classical 90s black metal tradition, embraces a sinister and obscure atmosphere that captivates listeners.

In early 2021, SUEL welcomed C.S. (from Wound) to take charge of vocals, adding a new dimension to their sonic journey. The session drums, a crucial element of their sound, were masterfully performed and recorded by M.S., also a member of Nocte Obducta.
    
    

The debut release, "Venomous Curse," boasts 8 tracks that showcase the full spectrum of SUEL's musical prowess. It's a sonic voyage through eerie and bleak atmospheres, accompanied by moments of relentless brutality, mysterious chants, and haunting screams.
    

Lyrical Concept:

SUEL delves into the depths of human obsession with knowledge, framed within the context of Alchemy, an ancestral precursor to science. The use of alchemy, whether driven by ignorance or intent, parallels the use of poison, not as a remedy but as a means of intoxication, control, or, in its darkest form, as a harbinger of death.

The album's lyrics revolve around two intertwined themes that underpin all 8 songs:

    Alchemy: Explored through the lens of historical figures and events, highlighting the development and utilization of poisons throughout human history.

    "Spiritual Poisoning": Examined through instances of religious indoctrination, charlatanism, spiritual manipulation, and totalitarian ideologies. It is portrayed as the antagonist of the true self, an insidious curse persisting across time.

"Venomous Curse" is now available on multiple formats, including limited blue vinyl, regular black vinyl, digipack CD, and cassette tape, courtesy of Vendetta Records.
