Slovak pagan metal outfit Ramchat has dropped an enthralling clip for their latest song, "Vertigo," serving as a tantalizing glimpse into their forthcoming vinyl seven-inch EP, "Zmar." This unique EP is set to make its debut on December 9, coinciding with the much-anticipated KrutoFest 2023 festival.
"Zmar" is a limited, hand-numbered edition, following the band's tradition of translating their expansive albums into short, impactful singles. Ramchat, led by the ingenious guitarist Hirax, has crafted their fifth asphalt album in this distinctive format. These releases have consistently become coveted rarities among their devoted fanbase, often selling out in record time.
"The song 'Vertigo' takes an unusual sonic journey, commencing with an oriental passage that sets the tone. We collaborated with the exceptionally talented Juraj Hnilica, who contributed Persian dulcimer and vocals to the track. His mesmerizing didgeridoo performance added a unique dimension to our soundscapes," explained Hirax, who is not only the guitarist but also the creative force behind Ramchat's music and lyrics.
Lyrically, "Vertigo" delves into the psyche of a tribal warrior awaiting orders to go into battle, exploring themes of faith and the decisions made by councils of "wise men." Hirax's introspective lyrics paint a picture of a soul in turmoil, emphasizing a non-violent approach to problem-solving and an aversion to the futility of war.
