Are you looking for some sludge? Well come and dive into Mean Green’s swamp. Turn the fuzz pedal up to 11 and jump in waist deep. This three piece from North Carolina certainly know how to hit the bottom end of the scale and it’s pretty cool.

I get the genre. No! I love the genre and I don’t want to bogart anyone’s joint. Just pass it along that a change of pace every now and again would be nice. The second track here ‘Crow’, is a great track example of what I probably selfishly want, forward to four minutes and twenty five seconds for a great bit soloing. Yes! Let’s go!.

Mean Green’s self-titled first release is a full length album consisting of songs written in their first year of the band's forming. Mean Green wrote this album to convey a stripped down and bare bones look at sludge, stoner, and doom metal. Relying heavily on tone and a slow moving freight train like tempo for most of their songs, they bring their own twist on the genre. With crushing guitar tone, wall shaking low end, bludgeoning percussion, and growling vocals, this album is a first look into the roots and inspiration of Mean Green!
