Nattsjäl (Sweden) - I Marors Djup - Reviewed By fullmetalmayhem ! Check it out here at this link https://fullmetalmayhem.org/2023/08/10/nattsjael-mit-i-marors-djup/
Band name and album title: Nattsjäl with I Marors Djup
Genre: Black/Thrash Metal
Release date and label: The Swedes released the album themselves on July 17, 2023.
Other releases by the band: After a single and an EP, this is their second album.
How I met the band: Once again Metal Devastation Radio struck and sent me this album. I have a preference for black/thrash anyway and if it all comes from Scandinavia then I have to write about it.
How do I find the disc: This is really an interesting combination. At times it's reminiscent of Cradle of Filth or Dimmu Borgir, but then come the thrash parts. The vocals remain hoarse and halfway between black and thrash. Overall, and especially when you listen to the album, it sounds really good.
The title track and opener I MARORS DJUP is really interesting. There are even female voices here, which give the whole thing a special touch. It's definitely worth a look.
Conclusion: Really strong, but not for everyone. Black metal purists in particular won't have any fun with it, but the album could lead some people to black metal. So have a listen here: fullmetalmayhem

" Everyone who is interested in folk tales, atmospheric and folk metal are welcomed to listen to Nattsjäl. I am a bit subjective because they got one new fan, but I am sorry, I simply like this. Amon Amarth, Týr, Wardruna, Månegarm and now Nattsjäl can be modern writers of history."
