Ready the horses, the beacons are lit and battle is upon us! Who will lead the vanguard? That privilege will go to Pressure who are back with their latest EP ‘Heroes Will Fall’.

Since their debut album in 2021, Sweden’s Pressure have been ridiculously busy with two full-length studio albums, an EP and now ‘Heroes Will Fall’. What the listener gets here is another dose of battle hardened progressive heavy metal and power metal with enough hard rock sensibilities to really pull in a wider audience. Yet, ‘Heroes Will Fall’ isn’t sanitised of life and instead the listener gets a visceral slab of metal which is as epic as it is driving. Through tracks such as ‘Demonic Oath’, ‘Demon Warrior’ and ‘Demon Huntress’, Pressure sticks very close to their demonic theme and although this is well worn ground, ‘Heroes Will Fall’ show a band with all the enjoyability of not only those Swedish pioneers like Axe Witch and Heavy Load, but also Sabaton and more international contemporaries such as Battle Beast and Powerwolf.

‘Heroes Will Fall’ shows that Pressure is nowhere near running out of steam and much like the bands last EP in 2022, this latest offering appears to be a stopgap before Pressure once again charge headlong into battle. Metal Digest
