Thrash has long been one of my personal favorites. Alas, Slayer has already bowed out, and the Big 4 are (almost) the Big Foregone. If there is to be a follow-up foursome, I submit that a band like Methane just might be in the running. ‘Kill It With Fire’ is old-school Thrash at its finest. Clearly influenced by the greats, it burns and slashes with furious precision, ensuring a few sore necks along the way. Tracks like “Declare Chaos” and “Accuser” (complete with the hilarious Walmart lady) are textbook examples of classic riffs married with a current-day flavor. While generally adhering to established formats, ‘…Fire’ also features several off-path interludes. Almost artful at times, these round the songs out nicely, elevating Methane’s sound above many of their contemporaries.

There are few moments, however, where the band lays down almost note-for-note renditions of well-known classics. Inadvertent aping or homage? You decide. Nonetheless, the album certainly deserves a place in your Thrash library. As frontman, Tim Scott is already a quinquagenarian, I don’t think a thirty-year run is in the cards, but what I do see is a mighty ass kicking in your future. Turn this one way up. Metal Digest

The album reverberates unapologetic thrash metal guitar riffing courtesy of guitarists Jimi Masterbo and Markus Grundstrom paired with the intense drumming of newly inducted drummer Jonathan Fundin . The album also features a colaboration with CJ Scioscia from New York City area thrash legends Blood Feast , who shreds a solo on track 5 ' A Blood Red Sky '.

Tim commented in a press release "The lyrics for the album have a darkened tone of irony about our contemporary societal woes and some deeply personal songs as well, of life and all its miseries. The music on the album sounds brutal, we really got a sick mix of old school thrash and heavy pit provoking groove riffs."

The music video depicts today's society, social media junkies hopped up Facebook likes. The idea for the song came from a day Tim was going through his friends list, deleting people that had no reason to be there. " I was culling them, deleting someone from your page is worse than death for some people. I think we are all going fuckin' crazy. Its a virus and we're all infected"
