As STREET FIGHTER’s debut album release date gets closer, the anticipation gets bigger. It’s the perfect timing for a new digital single of the Danish heavy metal rockers.

Any raunchy 80’s biker hero had an encounter with magic substances. Substances that enhance their perception of life.

Despite the warnings of his friends, our hero visits one of the small shops at the end of a narrow alley, making his way through scattered papers and machine parts.

Captivated by the blue lights reflecting off her eyes, he received the cup of a strong, warm, scented liquid. As it touched his lips, he was forever changed…

Sung by Steffan Jensen (Exelerate), with a slightly familiar Crowley-esque beginning and a timeless guitar solo by Martin J. Andersen (Meridian, Chalice of Sin, Blindstone), “Black Potion” shows all the great potential of the writing partnership of Marco Angioni and Sofia Schmidt. It’s a melancholic, melodic, and retro heavy metal rock track with all the right elements to put you on a night train to the 80s that may never come back.
Let’s do a time travel experiment: we send back in time some of today’s music production possibilities and we check what a Heavy Metal band from 1986 can come out with, and we call it Street Fighter.

A pack of urban outcasts has been recruited: the ugly city alleys are about to get uglier.

At the helm of this project is Marco Angioni (Meridian, Withering Surface), producer and multi-instrumentalist, who recorded most of the instruments: lead and rhythm guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums. On vocals: Stefan Jensen and Sofia Schmidt (Ethereal Kingdoms).

Special guests are:
Rasmus Bom Andersen (Diamond Head), Soren Andersen (Electric Guitars), Michael Catton (Tainted Lady), Chris Catton (Boys From Heaven) Lars Märker (Meridian), Michael Bastholm (Artillery), Michael Hvolgaard Andersen (Withering Surface, Thorium), Martin J. Andersen (Blindstone), Klaus Agerbo and Peter Bruun (Meridian).

“Second Hand Hero” will be released on all digital platforms via From The Vaults on September 8th, 2023.
