The English trad metal scene is alive and well. They have taken up the baton of Iron Maiden, Saxon and Judas Priest and continue to live with the spirit of NWOBHM. None more so than Toledo Steel with Rich Rutter and Sam Whitbread joining forces with ex-Terror Drone members Neil Anderson and Jamie Brooks to form Termination Force who have released their debut EP ‘Netherworld’.

With ‘Netherworld’, Termination Force expand on trad metal formula of Toledo Steel by bringing in elements of power and progressive metal. Termination Force do this without breaking the mould so much changing its shape. At just five tracks clocking in at under twenty minutes, Termination Force know how to keep things concise, they don’t arse about and deliver something which is not just very good, it’s fucking excellent. Instead of relying on that British trad sound, Termination Force take a leaf out of their transatlantic cousins with tracks such as ‘Target Locked’, ‘Heart Racer’ and ‘After the Fall’ having all the appeal of early Fates Warning and Sanctuary, but also something more continental and any fan of Scanner will find this EP to be utterly tantalising.

As with all metal of this nature, it is the genres best kept secret. Had this been released 40 years ago, Termination Force would be selling out venues and their names carved into the annals of metal history. Instead, they’re living in a small niche corner. However, if you love your old-school heavy metal, then ‘Netherworld’ is an EP to seek out. Metal Digest

Short Bio: TERMINATION FORCE is a thrash / power band from UK. Sci-fi themes combined with catchy solid riffs and powerful vocals. Featuring members of current established metal bands Toledo Steel and Desolator. Formed in 2021 out of a love of under appreciated late 80's / early 90's melodic metal predominantly from the USA and Germany.
