 Jason Becker Is Selling Rare Guitar Gifted by Eddie Van Halen to Afford Medical Care

Jason Becker has put a rare guitar for sale in order to support his medical care, which costs roughly around $100,000 per year, as reported by Louder.

The guitar in question was a gift from Eddie Van Halen in 1996, when he wanted to show his support and raise awareness after Becker was diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease ALS a few years back, in 1989.

Becker was gifted a brand-new Wolfgang guitar, now going up for sale in an informal auction organized by YouTuber Benny "The Neurotic Guitarist" Goodman, a close friend of Becker's.

Goodman asked potential buyers to contact him directly so that he can try to raise the highest possible price for the axe without paying any extra fees to an official auction house.

Becker said about his encounter with Van Halen:

    "Eddie was such a beautiful person. He was incredibly kind to me and my family. Not only was he my biggest influence, he had such a huge heart. He honestly saved my life."

The guitarist has remained active in the music business long after his diagnosis, with his latest album "Triumphant Hearts" dating back to 2018, and including collaborations with Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman, and many more.'
