Formed seven years ago, PRIMAL released their self-titled debut two years later. The band, made up of former members of groups such as HIRAX, V8 or LOGOS, comes up with experienced people and plays fairly correct US Metal. How could it be otherwise? The second work "Humachine" took a while, but now it's here and at least appeals to all fans of the style just mentioned.
But that alone is not enough for me to inevitably put the album on a solid footing. A few fine songs have been gathered that definitely know how to please, but I still have various concerns to report, which explains the rather mediocre rating. On the one hand, it's Alberto Zamarbide's voice that doesn't please me as much as it should. Everything fits perfectly in the rough and rough tones, but when it gets more melodic, the man on the microphone can't consistently inspire me. Even the old-fashioned sound, which is supposed to be perfectly tailored to the underground ambience, doesn't trigger any leaps of joy. But, and that's still the main thing in Metal, the guitars really rock out of the speakers. That doesn't save most of the songs from mediocrity, though. Only 'Ever', which is reminiscent of 'One' by METALLICA in terms of intonation, and the title track can still score points, with 'End Times' and 'Infernal Nightmare' PRIMAL doesn't really let you know that the shots are sharp. The numbers don't provide enough impetus, everything sounds too hackneyed.
US Metal friends and lovers of old NWoBHM hams are welcome to check out "Humachine", which is definitely a recommendation for the monthly Metalhead regulars' table. The album doesn't cause any discomfort in that sense, but it doesn't challenge me to massive jubilation either. powermetal

NoLifeTilMetal Records is proud to announce the CD and vinyl release of PRIMAL's latest release "Humachine."
Primal is made up of Alberto Zamarbide, lead singer of the legendary Argentine bands V8 and Logos; Jorge Iacobellis (Hirax) on drums, and Glenn Rogers (Deliverance) on guitars. “Humachine” is the sophomore release from this band of veteran musicians. The bands debut self titled album was released in 2016 to much critical acclaim, and was entirely produced by Iggy Elisabetsky, winner of two Grammy Awards, at D-Organization Studios in Los Angeles, California and mastered by Rob Colwell at Bombworks Studios in Texas.
“Humachine” contains 11 well-structured songs for fans of traditional heavy metal, with a solid rhythmic bass and strong melodies throughout and follows the musical direction of bands debut release. The new album will also be mastered for vinyl and CD by Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound.
Earlier this month the first single “Warrior's Code" was released and has been already getting many views and positive feedback.
