Band name and album title: Dysplaecer with Temple Hights

Genre: Heavy Metal

Release date and label: The band will release this piece of metal on April 20, 2023 without label involvement.

Other releases by the band: After two single releases, the album now follows.

How did I meet the band: Actually, I just wanted to find out what the fucking hell "New Wave of traditional Kung Fu Heavy Metal" is. Then I listened to the album and...

How do I find the disc: ...what can I say. Quite respectable Heavy Metal, whose musicians have probably seen too much of the old Hong Kong cinema. I'll be honest, I don't like movies where the fighters feel like they're floating in the air and polishing their hogboards for hours, unless that ability is explained in the movie itself. But that's another topic. The album isn't bad, even if it mainly lives from this gimmick. Let it be quiet. Asian instruments are used from time to time, so that it sounds as if they simply used the background music from some kung fu film.

BLACK WIDOW made it into my favorite straight away. They manage to conjure up images of temples in the mountains where monks practice martial arts. They did a particularly good job with the vocals, which sound a bit bigger here than on the other songs on the album.

WAY OF THE NINJA sounds damn awesome too. Here the band reminds me a bit of Helloween. But this resemblance is only superficial, as they clearly have a style of their own. Here they indulge in the clichés about these legendary and transfigured assassins, but as with the relevant films, the motto here is: head out and enjoy.

Conclusion: Here I would like to take the picture that Ernie likes to use for good heavy metal on his channel Krachmucker TV. He then runs through his booth with an imaginary sword, in his mind's eye is a dragon and somewhere else a castle. It was the same for me here. Instead of a normal sword, I had a Jiàn in my hand, the castle was a stereotypical mountain fortress/temple as you know it from the relevant films and the dragon also had more of the snake-like appearance of the Chinese dragons. So: a really good album, check it out: fullmetalmayhem
