"The world has enough for everyone's needs, but not everyone's greed…"
- Mahatma Gandhi

Once you have opened the eyes of the Sun God within, piercing the veil of subterfuge and deceit, then the all pervading nature of their poisonous lies becomes apparent. The thought-warping misdirection can be seen, hanging in the air like a choking, black smoke, invading our lungs and minds with every breath. Their smiling masks slip in the face of enlightenment, betraying the feral viciousness beneath; the eyes burning with wickedness, the slavering jaws and the rapacious hunger for the blood and spirit of all around them. And the chains that bind us to their bidding begin to fracture and decay beneath your gaze.

Paracrona’s incredibly expansive, ambitious and adventurous debut album, Sun God, is a call to freedom, a cry for strength, a summoning to awakening and awareness. We live in a world of deception and insidious control, our dreams bought and sold with a currency of falsehood. We have become lost in a maze of madness where greed is glorified and kindness scorned, obedience hailed and free thought decried. Within the powerful complexities of their fiercely exhilarating music Paracrona endeavour to map the pathways of the imprisoning labyrinth and lay down a burning path to liberation and deliverance. The core creative duo of Ringo Christiaan Van Droffelaar and Øystein Hansen (who spent over a decade in the ranks of Fortíð) were brought together by fate at Wacken Open Air in 2007 and began work on the album that would become Sun God in 2016. Their work was completed in late 2019 but the global pandemic struck - followed by a tough but thankfully successful fight against cancer for Ringo. Now they are finally ready to unveil their creation, their grand opus that draws upon a core of driving black metal, infused with melody, imagination, traditional metal strength and progressive, imaginative musicality. The sound of Sun God stands outside simple genre definitions, with Ringo referring to their amalgam of metals as ‘Titanium’ and female backing vocalist Siri Valdman coining the name ‘Quantum Realism Metal’. When you listen to the huge riffs of ‘Thriller’, the black majesty of ‘Sun God’, the rolling thunder of ‘River Of Pain’ or the multifaceted melodiousness of ‘Reasons’, you will find your own name for Paracrona’s craft. And it’s that inspiration to individual thinking that lies at the heart of their message and mission.

Mixed and mastered by the legendary producer and engineer Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, Dimmu Borgir etc) at his famous Studio Fredman, with additional drum recordings taking place at Strand Studios with Marius Strand (Borknagar, Pantheon I, Susperia etc), Sun God has the strong, rich sound to do justice to its inspired song writing; every nuance and subtlety can be appreciated, every colossal impact felt in the bones. The album will be released on May 24th, in conjunction with a special release show in Oslo, where Paracrona will be joined by Blood Red Throne and Omnia Moritur. Gather your strength and prepare to follow the light of the Sun God’s gaze through the deepening shadows of the world.
