Hailing from the most isolated capital city in the world, Perth, Western Australia, death thrashers REMISSION is sure to defy their isolation with the impact of new single and video ‘Castor’.
Filmed during the bands recent support alongside Swedish melo-death legends ARCH ENEMY, ‘Castor’ is the first single from the bands upcoming album ‘Impermanence’ which will be released in June through Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast Records/Believe Distribution). The video captures the bands intense live energy and razor-sharp riff delivery.
Commenting on the song, lead singer and guitarist Jacson Robb offers: “Thematically, “Castor” delves into the idea of not knowing one’s own power. How the human psyche has the capacity to both take a detrimental hold in moments of weakness, and also overcome such moments to become stronger and uncover the true power that lies within the mind - metaphorically depicted by a tale between the two well-known celestial and mythical beings Castor and Pollux. Written in a manner that displays both an innate jealousy from the mortal Castor towards his brother’s bestowed divinity, and a perspective of reassurance and guidance from Pollux. Set against a sonic background that balances aggression and melody, the instrumentation provides a perfect foundation from which this story flows.”
The video was filmed by Joseph Varley of Dark Spirit Photography who has also worked with acts such as VOYAGER and XENOBIOTIC.
Album release date and pre-orders will be coming soon, so get windmilling with ‘Castor’ and get ready for an album that have fans of SYLOSIS, MALEVOLENCE and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER absolutely salivating.
