Very punctual as clockwork, the Danish Royal Hunt, one of the most representative bands of symphonic Rock/Metal since the end of the 80s, are back with their new album. The present "Dystopia - Part 2" is the obvious continuation and conclusion of the saga that began with "Dystopia - Part 1", released about a couple of years ago. As for the previous one, also in this work there is a massive presence of guests: Mats Leven (TSO, Skyblood, Vandenberg), Mark Boals (YJ Malmsteen, Ring of Fire, Royal Hunt), Henrik Brockman (Royal Hunt, Evil Masquerade, N'Tribe), Kenny Lubcke (Narita, Zoser Mez) and Alexandra Andersen (Royal Hunt, JSP). Royal Hunt's style points again to quality rather than innovation by increasing the intensity of the compositions, and indeed, improving the already excellent prequel by smoothing out the imperfections. The classic style is confirmed, i.e. the union of orchestrations and Progressive Rock/Metal, but without there ever being a real prevalence, creating a perfect balance (the long and elaborate "Thorn In My Heart" dispersed between fairy-tale suggestions and arabesque scents) that always stimulates the listener always trying to amaze. If the twisted "The Key Of Insanity" and the neoclassical interlude "The Purge" are perhaps the least successful episodes, there is something to enjoy in the remaining tracks. “Live Another Day” is a little jewel in which every musician manages to give his small contribution thanks to a remarkable interlocking crescendo: first the rhythm section shows off (Andreas "Habo" Johansson and Andreas Passmark have an excellent ) in a kind of dramatic dance, then leaving room for the guitarwork of an increasingly inspired Jonas Larsen, who delights in fiery riffs indulging in subtleties and impressive melodic/epic peaks, not to mention the beautiful solos. DC Cooper on vocals is always magnificent and the work of mastermind André Andersen on orchestrations is impressive but never over the top. The five musicians demonstrate an increasingly growing harmony and this is demonstrated by the rocky symphonic Hard Rock named "One More Shot", the stupendous semi-ballad "Left In The Wind" (refined and with an enviable solo work) and the pearl soundtrack of almost fifteen minutes "Scream Of Anger", with theatrical tones that starts with a Metal ride and then takes many different paths in a majestic crescendo.
