Bloodride come from Finland and in September 2021 they released their fourth full-length entitled "Idiocracy", which changes nothing and adds nothing to Ours' proposal, that is a very physical and vulgar Thrash/Death - in the good sense of the term -. No space therefore granted to the melody (except in the very beautiful central arpeggio of "Stranger Roots"), wild stone-crushing guitars, frenzied double-bass drums and coarse singer, just as the proposal needs. There is no rest in these twelve tracks, where we pass from the furious "Rapid Fire" and "Burn Perfection", old-style Thrash that refers to the 80s but at the same time current that vaguely recall bands like Exodus, to the Death Metal of “Fleshless”, in which Jyrki Leskinen demonstrates that she has a good command of her voice, passing from clean to guttural (not really growl, but still catarrhous enough). The guitars make a fine show of themselves, exchanging solos and rhythms (“Limited”, “Bow To Disorder”) and the beaten rhythm section which is a pleasure without many frills, thanks also to a line-up that has hardly ever changed (only two changes, the first by Simo Partanen, the second ax joining the group ten years ago and the second being the sporadic addition in 2014 of a third guitar, but soon done away with). Take the early Sodom and Slayer, a pinch of Destruction and Exodus and you'll have a mix of this explosive album that can be listened to with pleasure. Obviously, the proposal is addressed to the thrashers most devoted to these sounds and even if sometimes we fall into the already heard, it doesn't matter at the end of the day, because this "Idiocracy" turns out to be honest work done by people who believe in it - being them same fans of the genre - in this music.
