Spanish old school death metallers DEATHPATH formed in July 2016 in Palma, Mallorca. After an initial orientation phase and line-up changes, they got their first gigs in autumn 2017 and quickly made a name for themselves in the local scene. The new album “Hate Within” was recorded at the end of 2021. It was mixed by Michael Hahn in the Rosenquarz Studios in Lübeck. DEATHPATH are Vocals: Mario “Bastard” Christiansen, Lead Guitar: Biel Marin, Rhythm Guitar: Frank Pietsch, Bass: Floren Betti and Jordi Catany on drums.

“Hate Within” opens with an almost 2-minute intro and then goes into 'Warmachine' and 'Morbid Masquerade', which fans of cultivated Old School Death Metal will be happy about. With beautifully snotty vocals by Mario “Bastard” Christiansen, fat banging drums and sawing guitar sounds, DEATHPATH hit the mark. With 'Purified' the guitar sounds are confirmed by a solo, there are enough blast beats with the evil 'Butcher - fresh Meat'. Title track 'Hate Within' slows things down, but only for the first half of the song, then it's all over the place again. The guys from Palma/Spain follow their band motto “We're DEATHPATH and we speak Death Metal” in the other four songs ('Heritage Of Fear', 'War On Holy Ground', 'Coward Left To Die', 'Confess' ) all credit.

DEATHPATH don't reinvent the wheel, but know how to turn it in order to churn out a Death Metal disc with potential. The Spanish underground has a lot to offer from the genre and DEATHPATH have taken another step forward after their 2019 debut “Summoning the Beast” and will also make genre connoisseurs in Germany sit up and take notice with “Hate Within”.
