Korrosive - Toxic Apokalypse - Reviewed By metalcrypt ! Check it out here at this link: https://www.metalcrypt.com/pages/review.php?revid=14112
I was saying in my review of the new Razor (ugh...) that other bands were doing thrash better these days, and Korrosive is one of them (thanks Christian for the recommendation). Korrosive have been around since 2015 and this is their second album, but I somehow missed them the first time around (there are reviews of their first album here, but I never got around to checking it out). The artwork just screams "thrash," an old-school style of artwork that crossover bands like Municipal Waste have been reviving for years, but Korrosive are more into pure thrash and don't have that little "party vibe" going on, rather opting for a speedier, more aggressive and in-your-face approach. The vocals are fucking insane and often barely decipherable because the vocalist barks so fast and that adds a lot of aggressiveness to this little speed fest. There's an old-school foundation to this, but it's sharper and faster than most of the old stuff and there's a more modern sound thrown in, so Korrosive don't come off as much like a "thrash revival" band as many others might, rather taking the style in a faster, heavier and crispier direction. I hear a lot of albums in a year and a lot of thrash, but this album stands out. If thrash with harsh vocals done a little different is your thing, you owe it to yourself to check Toxic Apocalypse out.
