When Radiohead sang “anyone can play guitar” way back 1993, little did they know that 30 years later, literally EVERYBODY would play guitar in some way shape or form. Strangely enough, this isn’t just some twat with an acoustic guitar playing ‘Wonderwall’ or a busking Furby like Ed Sheehan, these guitarists are virtuosos, scalping their fingers at every opportunity as they shred, string skip and sweep pick their way into musical excellence. One musician who has been standing tall for some time now is Sazzad Arefeen who has been living in the ultra-zone and surfing with the alien and now Arefeen has released ‘Operation Angrymachine’.

What the Bangladeshi musician shows here with ‘Operation Angrymachine’ is that they don’t need any vocalist within their ranks. Arefeen’s guitar playing takes centre stage as the virtuoso musician makes that guitar sing; passion and skill oozing from every note. Written about the Liberation War of Bangladesh of 1971, Arefeen takes the listener on a musical journey of highs and lows, ebbing and flowing along with tracks such as ‘Dead Red Flowers’, ‘Mask of the Invader’ and ‘Rain on a Free Land’ float with all the nature of Joe Satriani and Vinnie Moore, but also Steve Vai and Tony MacAlpine.

For those who love their instrumental guitar music, ‘Operation Angrymachine’ will give them plenty to dissect and digest, able to get into the nitty gritty of every note, pedal effect and technique that Arefeen uses. It won’t do anything for those who don’t like instrumental rock, but those who do will have a new name to add to their list of guitar heroes. Anyone might be able to play guitar, but very few can play it like this. - Metal Digest

"This Album is very Emotional and special personally for me as it holds the history of Liberation War of Bangladesh. During Writing this album, one thing I realized that if there Was no Bangladesh, there just might not be any Existence of Sazzad Arefeen as a musician Today.  I also Feel like music is still to be heard first, so for this release I concentrated more on the Audio, and Audio Visualizers only, because I want to have listeners who wants to listen what the sound talks first and Feel what I felt during recording all tracks.
