Sidewalk Mafia are a duo from Finland that plays a blackened mixture of doom and gothic metal and this is a review of their 2022 album "72 Hours" which was released by Sliptrick Records.

Keyboards start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times while the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody. High pitched black metal screams are also a very huge part of the recording along with the slower sections of the songs also adding in elements of doom metal.

When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while growls can also be heard at times. When clear vocals are utilized they also add in touches of gothic metal along with the music also showing some influences of acid and alternative rock on some of the tracks as well as all of the musical instruments on the recording also having a very powerful sound to them, back up shouts can also be heard briefly and the whole album sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction.

Sidewalk Mafia plays a musical style that takes black, gothic and doom metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and oppressive themes.

In my opinion Sidewalk Mafia are a very great sounding mixture of black, doom and gothic metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo.. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Remember me" "Redaround" and "Bloodsucker". 8 out of 10. - BlackenedDeathMetalZine

Sidewalk Mafia is a blackened doom/goth metal band from Helsinki, Finland. The band operates as a duo, but in a live situation, the band is a trio with a guest bassist. The band's sound is extremely heavy and oppressive
with a low tuned guitars and a wall of sound style production, but also melodic and at the same time atmospheric. Sidewalk Mafia was founded in 2020 by vocalist/guitarist Tommi Paroles and drummer/vocalist Johannes Wolfpathon.

The band just released their debut full-length album "72 Hours" as a digital version in May 2022 via Italian label Sliptrick Records. The band's previous single releases have been well received worldwide.

The band says:
The new album represents our roots. We are children of the 90's, and our influences come from the heavier and alternative rock of the time, as well as metal bands, sounds and moods. There are also lots of acid rock,
goth vibes, and darker and gloomy sounds as well in the album. The album isn't systematically a theme album, but it kind of went into that direction as we were recording it. The theme of the album is what's happening these days inside people's heads. Mental health problems have exploded and are affecting pretty much everyone around us. The subject is unavoidable, and there is no end to it in this crazy world.
