Famous Rock and Metal Artists Who Were Also Experienced Gambling Players

Rock and metal music has always been known to have a wild side. Whether it's the hair, the attitude, or just a general love of partying, rock stars have never been shy about living life on the edge. Of course, some artists are more prone to going off the rails than others—there's no shortage of stories about rock stars getting into trouble on tour!

But what you might not know is that many of these wild-living musicians have also enjoyed gambling as well: whether it's playing poker with friends in the tour bus or hitting up Vegas casinos after shows. So if you've ever wondered which famous rockers enjoy tossing dice at craps or cards at blackjack tournaments, here are 7 artists who love playing games!

  1. James Hetfield

James Hetfield has been a poker player for years, and he’s also the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the band Metallica. In fact, he’s won multiple tournaments over the years—including one in 2001 where he won $3 million after beating out fellow rockers Axl Rose (of Guns N' Roses) and Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top).

Hetfield has been known to play poker with his bandmates on their tour bus, but it’s unclear whether they hold any grudges against him because of his success at the tables.

  1. John Entwistle

John Entwistle was the bassist and occasional vocalist for the British band The Who. While most of us know him as a musician, he also had a passion for gambling. John Entwistle was known to gamble in Las Vegas, at casinos in London, and even on horse races. He was known to be an avid backgammon player as well as a table tennis enthusiast while he played with other rock stars like Keith Moon and Pete Townshend when they were not playing music together or partying with their friends.

  1. Lemmy Kilmister

You might have heard of the British rock band Motörhead, or perhaps you know them simply as Lemmy and his boys. The group was founded in 1975 by guitarist and singer Kilmister, drummer Phil Taylor (who passed away in 2016), bassist/singer Larry Wallis, and second guitarist Würzel.

Lemmy Kilmister was a well-known poker player. He would spend much of his time at tournaments around the world playing against some of the best players in the world. While he never won any major titles himself, he did place third at a 2003 championship event held at Binion's Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas.

  1. Alice Cooper

In addition to being a renowned rock musician and live performer, Alice Cooper is also known for his love of gambling. There is no doubt that he enjoys playing games like blackjack at neosurf casino sites, poker and craps. But he also takes advantage of free spins at online sites with bonus on deposit from time to time. In fact, Cooper got started in the casino game as a teenager when he began working at the Sahara Casino in Las Vegas.

He quickly became known among the gambling fans who love playing at the best Deutsche online Casinos as someone who enjoys placing high stakes bets. This was due in large part to his role as an entertainer at major casinos like Caesars Palace and The Sands Hotel & Casino on The Strip during their heyday in the 70s through 90s.

  1. Pete Townsend

Townsend was born in Chiswick, London on 17th August 1944. He was educated at Penge County School for Boys until 1959 when his father died unexpectedly during a routine surgery. This event affected Townsend greatly and led him to start playing music as an outlet for his grief during this turbulent time in his life.

You may know him as a member of the British rock band The Who, but you might not know that Pete Townsend is something of a gambling legend . He's played poker with some of the most famous players in the world and has won millions over his lifetime at casinos around the globe.

  1. Sully Erna

You may not know the name Sully Erna , but you've heard his voice. As the lead singer of Godsmack and an avid poker player, he has a distinct style. While many rock stars keep their private lives in the dark, Sully isn't shy about discussing his love for poker. A real live dealer game enthusiast, he also likes to play card games at online casino sites.

Conclusion

These are just a few of the most famous musicians who were also experienced gamblers. There are many others who have achieved fame and fortune through their music, but also enjoyed gambling as well. It's clear that no matter how much success someone has in one area of life, there will always be some type of passion or interest they don't want anyone else know about.
