‘Seraphic Wizard’, new video from Nashville, T.N. stoner rockers, Noisecult accompanies the same titled album, both out now.
Moving in some very prestigious circles, Noisecult, founded in 2003, have so far played alongside Corrosion Of Conformity, ex-Iron Maiden vocalist Paul Di’ Anno, FEAR, Trouble, Overkill, Mondo Generator and many more.
Signed with Metal Assault Records, LA, Noisecult has been compared to the likes of Black Sabbath, Motorhead, High On Fire and Orange Goblin.
Seraphic Wizard – A deep, gradual intro, with a typically stoner sound. Entrenched in doom and darkness. Especially in the bass. Very magical, mystical visuals. Vocals sung with gritty edge. It’s a classic arrangement, with the spark added via the vocals. Lyrically, apt for the themes and a lot of doom-drenched riffage. Melodically, it’s a strong soundalike of Electric Wizard. The drums and cymbals intensify, as the track continues. Good performance. Steady rhythms, with plenty of groove. Nothing really new to speak of and no immediate USP’s, but in itself, ‘SW’s a decent enough listen, with the added bonus of lyrical intrigue, specific to the thematic material.
