How did I get to know the band: In my e-mail inbox there was once again an e-mail from Metal Devastation Radio and due to the unusual name and the title as Black Metal the five songs immediately came into my Dropbox and now I share my impressions with you.

How do I find the disc: The songs are usually kept in the lower mid-tempo, sometimes even with piano support. But there are always outbursts of anger, to increase the pace and the hardness tremendously. Every now and then it even gets melodic. The vocals are not bad, usually a hoarse whisper, but again and again it becomes an angry scream.

Absolutely recommended is the title track MEDZ YEGHERM. Here everything comes together, the quiet, melodic parts, as well as the anger and hatred. I also really like PAINTING REVENGE.

Conclusion: Really good for a debut. I'm looking forward to more of the two. Here I make a recommendation who want to get to know Black Metal from other countries, as always listen to the same five or six European ones here: - FULL METAL MAYHEM

NHIALIC is an international black metal duo based in Sudan / Armenia. Mainly influenced by acts such as Dissection, Old Man's Child and Watain , members Animae (vocals / guitars / bass) and Corpus (drums / synth) teamed up mixing cultures of each other homeland; infact, while band name NHIALIC name comes from Dinka religion (Sudan), title of the release comes from a "Big Evil Crime" (Medz Yeghern) made by Ottoman Empire better known in history as "Armenian Genocide". NHIALIC debut EP involves different themes such as History, Literature and off course Darkness.

Being more specific:
- History ("Painting Revenge" talks about italian painter Artemisia Gentileschi while "Medz Yeghern" talks about 
Armenian Genocide)
- Literature (lyrics "Waltz Into Darkness" are inspired from Cornell Woolrich's novel from 1947)
- Darkness ("Underworld Supremacy")

This release feat. also, an instrumental track ("Der Herbst", which stands per "The Autumn" in German language) which is a tribute to band favorite season. NHIALIC published two singles before the EP release
