American thrash. San Francisco. California. More old school impossible. This EP by Varnok is thrash in the first place and American by the simple origin. With all the lyrics, the most rebellious, street and spoiled son of heavy metal.
While other bands are debating whether to reunite or not, or whether they mix their proposals with other styles, or whether they "soften" their music or not, Varnok is old and beloved thrash. Having lived it since its inception, even when in the country I did not talk about thrash, I can say this.
That is why the band chooses the most primary thrash, makes it rough, rudimentary; choose a cover art according to an entire era; he records a handful of songs that go to the right kick. And beware, without selling absolutely anything, except a CD.
There is no return to the roots, Varnok is the root. You don't try to teach anyone anything, Varnok is school. And to those who say that it was formed in 2012, I remind you that there are infinite bands that were formed in that year and came to nothing.
And after a few jobs, the band is comfortable, no longer has to give explanations, let alone deny what has been done. Just make thrashera music with the usual bad milk and fury of gritted teeth.
There are six themes, there are none left over. Old, stale sound. Today's fury on their own themes from which fans are already choosing the best. It could be "Revenant" or the killer cover of "Anticop" of you know which band, or a thousand more details in the rest of the songs, which do not decay ... but that's another analysis. - Rocka Rolla
