These days technology has allowed bands to strip back members fully with one person capable of playing all the instruments available from the comfort of their living room chair and black metal has always played this role well. The latest artist to try their hand at being a one-man show is Knecht Geiper who’s Kravt durch Krebs (KdK) project releases its album ‘Schmerzkörper’.
From the very get go, the listener knows that they are in for as old-school sounding black metal permeates the speakers. This is getting towards the end of the spectrum for as lo-fi as they come, but unlike many of KdK’s peers who deliver shit quality black metal through a shit production and think that they’re ‘trve kvlt’, ‘Schmerzkörper’ sticks to their guns as tracks such as ‘Kristpest’, ‘Hexenhammer; and ‘Ich bin’ combine the bestial roar of black metal from the likes of Darkthrone and Paysage d’Hiver with the more ambient and expressive parts of Woods of Ypres.
Yet, ‘Schmerzkörper’ is not exactly an easy album to listen to, even to trained black metal ears it can be challenging as at times attitude can only get you so far before the listener needs that ‘something more’. What KdK have here is all the pieces in front of them, they’ve just not been put in quite the right order, but it is getting there and that potential is waiting to be unlocked. - Metal Digest

Kravt durch Krebs delivers a fine example of modern conscious black metal, combining the production and attitude values of old school bands like Celtic Frost and Hellhammer with new age lyricism and perception.
Kravt durch Krebs is a one person Band . The one Bandmember goes by the Alter Ego "Knecht Geiper". This Project will never ever play any live shows but will continue to put out music. It is meant to sound disturbing and raw with a fuck that attitude. The feeling while recording the songs was more important than the output itself - so the songs have many "happy accidents" and are far away from a good polished sound and perfect playing. The lyrics are intended not to be heard clearly. It is more about feeling the vocals vibe than understanding everything. Kravt durch Krebs translated means (Power through Cancer), usually it would be written Kraft instead of Kravt. The Album Title translated means Pain Body
