TRENDKILL INC. unites traditional and modern sound in a debut EP!

On December 12th, the long-awaited debut work by the Heavy/Thrash Metal band TRENDKILL INC. was released on all traditional digital platforms (Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazon, Youtube Music) and also in physical CD format.

"Trendkill Inc" (EP) contains five powerful tracks with lots of punch and riffs that are a hybrid mix of traditional Heavy Metal influences with more modern Thrash Metal, exploring everyday themes, social issues and even philosophical issues with their unique identity. Two of these tracks, "Duality" (2020) and "Sharphooter" (2021), were previously released as singles on streaming platforms and also made available as music videos on the band's YouTube channel.

Recorded at Studio Rec Station Produtora (@rec_station), in Sao Paulo, with production, mixing and mastering by Sandro "Murdok" Fernandes, Renan Momente and Tusa Mufaz (Rec Station Productora) and cover art by Reknan Ranzoni, "Trendkill Inc" (EP) had the partnership of the renowned and great supporter of the brazilian metal scene Metal Mania Beer & Friends program (@metalmania.beer.and.friends) in its pressing on physical CD.

"[...] The debut EP transitions between Heavy Metal and Thrash Metal, more lilting and not so visceral with more modern/contemporary melodies. It's known that these guys will grow a lot in what they propose to do. Super nominated! [...]" (Caio Siqueira - Metal Na Lata)

"[...] A sour and distorted sound. A beam of avant-garde metal is perceived between subtle juggling guitars, dry hits with strident and synchronous precision of the drums with the bass in latent contours of a more softened Thrash Metal than brutal/aggressive. Its sound brings a freshness and a garage ambience that communicate a certain ingenuity justified by the short career time, but still there is an exciting swing coming from a mix of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock clothing bringing a trickery in the sound, a provocative tone that faces the conservative side of Rock! [..]" (Diego Pinheiro - Musical Critic)

"[...] For the most current American Heavy/Thrash Metal lovers, Trendkill Inc. is the perfect band for incorporating melodies, harmonies and the interesting inspired vocal timbre, which brings us back to James Hetfield post "Black Album", not clinging to a musical essence, although the basis is the style, this more modern sound adds a lot to the band's proposal. Honest production, cohesive, linear sound and competent musicians! [...]" (Joao Messias Jr. - Roadie Crew)

"Playing modern and vigorous Heavy/Thrash Metal, Trendkill Inc marks its debut on the scene with the presentation of catchy, well-constructed and easy to assimilate songs!" (Fabio Reis - Mundo Metal)

Comments about the tracks from "Trendkill Inc" (EP) in the words of band members:

"Trendkill"

"This was the first song composed by the band. My inspiration for the drum parts on this song came from albums like "Kill Em' All" (Metallica) and Mercyful Fate stuff. I have a lot of affection for it, as if it was my first child (laughs)." (Alexandre Fontana)

"Music that bears the band's name, there's not much to talk about, it's a good fight and sweating (laughs)! One of the solos I like to play the most!" (Sandro "Murdok" Fernandes)

"Because it was the first song composed by the band, it sounds different from the rest of the EP, since at the time we were still looking for our sound. It has a much more Thrash Metal oriented feel and reflects well that embryonic stage of beginning band. A great song!" (Kelvin Wallace)

"This is very special, as it was our first composition! It's fast and heavy, we've always known it would be an excellent opening track for the EP." (Sandro Cezar)

"Sharpshooter"

"I was listening to a lot of Diamond Head and Megadeth when we were creating it. It has lyrics that I think are amazing and it was chosen to be our first music video. It's definitely one of my favourites!" (Alexandre Fontana)

"Emblematic music, with a beautiful video clip and a beautiful mix of references!" (Sandro "Murdok" Fernandes)

"Since I started composing, I've always wanted to write lyrics about one of my favourite characters, Punisher, and when Sandro arrived with the riff for that song I realized that the time was right!" (Kelvin Wallace)

"It takes us into the world of comics, to the character Frank Castle, the Punisher. Dense and heavy music, it was the perfect choice to be our first music video." (Sandro Cézar)

"Duality"

"Total reference to American Thrash Metal bands from the Bay Area! Testament and Forbidden inspired me a lot on this track! I think its construction and structure are fantastic!" (Alexandre Fontana)

"This was our first single released and a very important point in our journey as a band – and mine in particular – as it was the first song I did the production, recording, mixing and mastering in full! I think I did a great job!" (Sandro "Murdok" Fernandes)

"One of our best compositions! From the riffs, melodies and lyrics. If you want to understand what Trendkill inc is all about, start here." (Kelvin Wallace)

"Another great song! The theme of the lyrics about the two sides of the human being brings to the game good reflections packed with a lot of heavyness." (Sandro Cezar)

"Silence Or Death"

"I put a more Hard N' Heavy feel to the drum parts. The voices in it were well explored and our performance is to be congratulated, modesty aside!" (Alexandre Fontana)

"I was happy with the result of this song, as it has a very well-crafted dynamic with a chorus that is kind of awesome (laughs)!!!" (Sandro "Murdok" Fernandes)

"A shorter song, direct and with a strong riff. The lyrics are very pertinent for today." (Kelvin Wallace)

"Maybe it's our darkest song and a little slower, but no less heavy. It's one of the highlights of the EP in my opinion." (Sandro Cezar)

"Shattered Life"

"I love all our songs but, in my opinion, it's the best one ever on the EP! My darling! (laughter). In it we have opened wide, all our influences where we create our own identity, and because of that we use it to close the EP, fitting like a glove! Trendkill Inc. rules!" (Alexandre Fontana)

"With a sinister and hairy riff that I remember from the first time I played it! My favourite song from the EP. Aggressiveness and a heavy breakdown, LISTEN!" (Sandro "Murdok" Fernandes)

"Without a doubt the best on the EP! Riff, melody, chorus and awesome lyrics. The fast riff with the lilting chorus together give a sensational break and a unique originality to the song. The lyrics talk about the trauma and psychological difficulties that a soldier faces after returning from war." (Kelvin Wallace)

"This is a firecracker! Fast and heavy, with a melody that sticks in your head. It signals very well what is to come." (Sandro Cezar)
