Vaping in the USA

As the biggest and most popular vaping country globally, the USA deserves a special mention. Namely, vaping laws recently went through some significant changes in the USA, including the legal age to vape.

The adolescents of this country enjoyed all kinds of vaping products since there were no laws that prohibited minors from using e-cigarettes and vapes. Many parents became increasingly concerned about the safety and health of their children, which is when the government decided to take action.

In December 2019, Congress passed a new federal law that goes by the name Tobacco 21. Although the law covers various tobacco and cigarette products, it also includes more modern e-cigarettes.

According to this bill, it “shall be unlawful for any retailer to sell a tobacco product to any person younger than 21 years of age.”

It essentially means that there are no penalties for purchasing, possessing, or using these products by citizens younger than 21. The sentences are reserved for shop owners and retailers who sell tobacco products to minors. President Trump signed the federal Tobacco 21 law on December 20th, 2019, and it immediately took effect.

Final thoughts

As vaping becomes an increasingly popular choice among the general public, governments of all countries must alter their approach to the latest vaping trends and ensure the safety of their citizens. Although vaping wasn’t perceived seriously at first, countries are slowly starting to realize the powerful effect vaping has.

Therefore, numerous e-cigarette and vaping laws are starting to take effect, essentially restricting who can and can’t use these trendy products.
