The Hawkins will release the mini-album "Aftermath" in autumn later this year. The album will be available on LP and CD, both of which can be pre-ordered now.
"Aftermath" follows The Hawkins 2020 album ”Silence is a Bomb”, and its affiliated live-album ”Live in the Woods”. On ”Aftermath”, The Hawkins’ rock n roll-wittiness is presented in slightly darkened nuances than before. Each track of the new mini-album tells a story connected to the aftermath of a tattered relationship, and the band’s highly dynamic and quirky take on garage rock is performed with an underlying sense of held-back anger and angst.
Experimental and bolder then before, ”Aftermath” offers 6 tracks moving from explosive outbursts of energy to calmer, acoustic parts, with manic episodes in between. Despite its lyrical theme, dealing with the destructive aftermath of past relationships, The Hawkins’ signature mix of entertaining songwriting and easy-going energy is present throughout ”Aftermath”, adding up to a highly ambivalent mixture of dead seriousness and fun. ”Aftermath” was recorded at Shiitake Sounds. Mixed by Johannes Carlsson and mastered by Hans Olsson. Cover artwork for the mini-album and its single tracks by Joel “Kebabfinger” Kallioniemi.
"Aftermath" is released on 500 copies on pink vinyl, 500 copies on transparent blue vinyl, and on CD. The band is also releasing a T-shirt with the "Aftermath" design, available as a pre-order on Bandcamp. "Aftermath" is released on The Sign Records the 15th of October and can be pre-ordered now.
So far, The Hawkins have released 2 singles from "Aftermath" - " Svääng ", and " Turncoat Killer ". Make sure to give them a spin!
