MARILYN MANSON Talks About His Stage Injury

Marilyn Manson   spoke to   Yahoo! Music   about the injury he suffered last month after a stage prop fell on him while he was playing in New York City.

"I only recently watched the video of it," the shock rocker said. "I can see how it could look terrifying. It was terrifying for me, because the truss was not secured properly."

The accident happened about forty-five minutes into   Manson 's set at Hammerstein Ballroom as tried to climb the prop — consisting of two enormous fake pistols — which was almost double his height. The huge prop toppled and knocked   Manson   to the stage.

"I wasn't trying to climb it,"   Manson   said. "It started to fall and I tried to push back and I didn't get out the way in time. I'm not sure what I hit my head on, but it did fall onto my leg and break the fibula in two places. The pain was excruciating."

After being X-rayed and examined at a hospital,   Manson   had a plate and ten screws inserted in his bone, with another screw through his ankle bone and a cast around his leg. He has spent the last couple of weeks recovering at home in Los Angeles.

Considering the weight of the metal framework that fell over,   Manson   is lucky his injuries weren’t far worse. "It definitely could have crushed my skull and my ribs," he said. "I have some minor bruising in that area, but it took six guys to pull it off of me. It was like wrestling a giant iron monster."

Manson   lamented the fact that a number of shows were canceled "as [he] was about to put it into second gear," but he added, "I'll be back there really shortly, and it's going to be as exciting as it was starting out."

Manson   will return to the stage on November 5, performing at   Ozzfest Meets Knotfest   in Devore, California. His European tour kicks off on November 12 in Helsinki, Finland.

Manson   has announced rescheduled U.S. tour dates for January and February following the postponement of his October U.S. tour. All tickets for original performances will be honored at newly announced dates below. Unfortunately,   Manson   is not able to honor tickets for the October 8 Columbus, Ohio show or the October 26 concert in Phoenix, Arizona.
