With their upcoming album "Mӕre", due to be released on January 29th (Vinyl/CD on February 19th in the US), HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY have delivered the soundtrack to the desolation of this year, and now another single from the Austrian duo is arriving with the grey clouds of November: 'Sing For The Damage We've Done' is a particularly haunting highlight of the 84 minutes long album that once again blends the melancholic spirit of black metal and post rock.
As guest vocalist, the band invited none less than French blackgaze pioneer Neige from ALCEST, who adds a fragile and nostalgic touch to a track that perfectly blends into the band's discography with its catchy signature guitar riffs by M.S.
Neige comments: "I feel honored to have been invited to perform guest vocals on the song 'Sing For The Damage We've Done' of Harakiri For The Sky. We have been friends for many years now and it’s a real pleasure to have been a small part of their new album! Hope you guys will like the track!"
"This song deals with estrangement", singer and lyricist J.J. adds about the meaning of the track. "The feeling of co-existing alongside of each other and starting to hate the other person, which always leads to smaller or bigger damage and injuries. The incomprehension why the other person doesn't understand you anymore, and the constant question why everything always has to end in an ugly way. When you can't live with one another, but also not without each other anymore..."
