Formed in 2011, Chile's Demoniac was created with the intention of (literally!) executing fast 'n' ferocious thrash metal, as well as bringing back the aggressiveness of metal in their town of Limache. With the young lineup initially consisting of Javier Ortiz (lead vocals / rhythm guitar), Rodrigo Poblete (drums), Nicolas Young (lead guitar), and Vicente Pereira (bass guitar), Demoniac self-released their debut EP, Judgement of Death, in 2012.
Some time after, Nicolas Young quits the band, leaving Demoniac with a total of three members. The band went on with this formation for one more year, focusing on the creation of new darkest & faster melodies in comparison with their previous work. In 2013, the band starts the recordings of the demo The Unacceptable Truth, which comes into existence in 2014 under the label Descarga Metálica on tape format. The demo garners a great response in the underground, and the band soon recruits Luciano Leiton on lead guitar. However, health issues force him to leave Demoniac some months later; meanwhile, the band was starting to compose new songs for their future debut album.
At the end of 2015, Demoniac go back to their original formation, with the return of former lead guitarist Nicolas Young. After months of working, the process of composition would come to an end and the recordings of the first LP would begin. It will be in this process that the band sign with the late/great Witches Brew to release Intemperance, Demoniac's first full-length, in 2017. Intemperance receives another great reception and reviews, allowing the band to share stage with bands like Brazil's Violator. The next year, Intemperance was released on pro-tape format via Chilean label Dissonant Death.
Since then, Demoniac pursued the process of composition for their second album, So It Goes, with recording started in mid-2019. Taking their signature sound to new heights (and depths!), Demoniac shake the dreaded "sophomore slump" by unleashing an album that's immediately identifiable as them yet travels down all sorts of wild 'n' weird paths. For example, the 20-minute suite of the title track and the use of clarinet...say what?!? Indeed, Demoniac up-end all the usual "evil thrash" cliches by creating a caustic yet intensely tuneful record that's daring in scope and devilish in its sense of purpose. Of course, everything RIPS here - harder than ever, in fact - but so many crazy angles get thrown at the listener, it's nearly overwhelming, until the quintet bring it all back into focus with strangely memorable hooks, swaggering execution, and the charismatic enunciation of frontman Javier Ortiz. All this is sealed together with absolutely 3D mastering courtesy of Claudio Salinas (Maestro3 Studio).
Not a week goes by these days where a thrash record isn't released, but there truly IS NOT a nowadays thrash record quite like Demoniac's So It Goes. Edged Circle is honored to continue their campaign of South American madness, and Demoniac are ready to destroy everyone's minds with So It Goes!
