THE BEAST

Well, since Soundgarden stole my thunder from remastering Badmotorfinger two weeks ago by announcing their own thing, I thought, why not do Louder Than Love? Ha! (Kidding. I love Soundgarden something fierce and am super excited for their official anniversary edition) Read on for my thoughts on remastering it. Anywho, this album was super fun to remaster. Its a very thick and natural sounding mix. Very 70's sounding, actually. But, it has the fidelity of a modern recording, so the best of both worlds really. Let's see what it sounds like modernized, shall we? The thick EQ curve, high fidelity, and large dynamic range gave me a lot to work with. I hyped it up all over the place with several stages of multi-band compression, some modern spacial processing, multi-band limiting, a very modern EQ curve...the works really. I think the result is fantastic. It sounds awesome. Remember to support the musicians and buy their stuff! All remastered music posted here is for the purposes of entertainment and experimentation only. I am simply exploring modern mastering techniques and their effect on great albums from various eras.
