FOREST OF TYGERS Bio and Press
FOREST OF TYGERS are a critically acclaimed genre-bending metal band from Nashville, Tennessee. Comprised of married couple Jim and Rachel Valosik, their debut EP Bruises gained widespread appraisal in the extreme music media for its sheer fury and power. The duo have since bolstered their reputation as a brutal and cathartic live act, sharing the stage with the North America’s most extreme underground touring bands.
Press:
"This duo play a distinctly American mix of styles; its chief ingredients are black metal, punk, and the kind of noise rock-inflected hardcore that bands like Botch and Coalesce codified in the late ’90s. Tombs’ early work might be the most obvious point of comparison for the end result, but Forest Of Tygers basically just sound like themselves… It’s time to start keeping tabs on this band; their full-length debut will almost certainly rip." - Stereogum
"It's intense, it's relentless and everyone will call it sludge although it's really elaborate, muscled hardcore with metal sensibilities peppered all over. Great stuff” - Terrorizer
"Pocket-sized super novas of sludge, noise rock, doom, black metal, and the snap of a psychotic break." - Brooklyn Vegan
ACT OF IMPALEMENT Bio and Press
Founded in early 2013, Act of Impalement is an extreme metal band from Nashville, Tennessee. Their combined youthful earnestness and unrelenting ferocity has placed them as a vital act among their metal peers.
Press:
"Many bands attempt to stitch together subgenres like this, and most fail miserably. But Act of Impalement is one of the most impressive new bands I've come across in a good long while." - Pitchfork
"I love a band that’s palpably earnest—not in a try-hard way, but one that by their very aura gives off the feeling that they seriously care about what they’re doing, that what they’re doing is urgent and important. Something depends on it—what, I don’t know. I get that vibe from Act of Impalement." - Invisible Oranges
"I'm too busy mashing my face into a concrete block and laughing maniacally as I collect the rapidly pooling blood into a ram's skull ready for a sacrifice to the Dark Lord and his three apprentices in the New Age Of Darkness – Act Of Impalement." - Tight to the Nail
