TMZ has obtained audio of the 911 call made by a driver on the morning that LINKIN PARK singer Chester Bennington was found dead at his Southern California home.
The police released the phone call made by the driver, who was apparently in Palos Verdes near Los Angeles on Thursday, July 20 to pick up Chester for a scheduled photo shoot. Bennington 's housekeeper could by heard crying and screaming in the background as the driver told the operator: "I just got to the location and his housekeeper came out and said he killed himself... he hung himself."
As the driver relayed more details, the housekeeper continued wailing as she apparently spoke to Chester 's wife on another phone. Listen to the audio below.
A Los Angeles County coroner said on Friday that Bennington 's "death is confirmed to be suicide by hanging." He added that "a bottle of alcohol was found in the room, but it wasn't close to the body and was not full."
Bennington had been candid about mental health battles in numerous interviews over the years. He was an open book when it came to the darkness he wrestled with, from talking about depression, anxiety and substance abuse, to revealing that he was molested when he was seven years old.
