As you can probably guess from this story’s headline, Dead Cross — the new project from Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies), Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, etc.), Justin Pearson (The Locust, Retox, Head Wound City), Michael Crain (Retox, Festival of Dead Deer) — have released a new song called “Grave Slave.” Technically, this is the second song the group have released just recruiting Patton, after “Shillelagh”… but that was only live for St. Patrick’s Day, so a lot of you probably didn’t get to hear it before it was pulled down. In other words, this is, for all intents and purpose, the first song with Patton on vocals to be unveiled by the group.
So how is it? Mike Patton is involved, dude. How do you think it is? It’s gloriously weird, of course!
