QUIET RIOT: DURBIN OUT, PEARL BACK IN

QUIET RIOT has parted ways with singer James Durbin and has replaced him with Jizzy Pearl . Pearl previously fronted QUIET RIOT from 2013 until October 2016, when he was briefly replaced by Seann Nichols , who played only five shows with the group before the March 2017 arrival of "American Idol" finalist Durbin .

According to "Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon" , Durbin left QUIET RIOT "to concentrate his time and efforts on his solo career.‬"

QUIET RIOT said in a statement: "We wish James every great success for his future and are grateful for his time with QUIET RIOT .‬ Welcome back Mr. Jizzy Pearl !"

Durbin recorded two studio albums with QUIET RIOT — 2017's "Road Rage" and the upcoming "Hollywood Cowboys" — during his three-year stint with the group.

Drummer Frankie Banali resurrected QUIET RIOT in 2010, three years after the death of founding member and singer Kevin DuBrow .

In a 2018 interview with The Tribune-Democrat , Banali praised Durbin , saying: "When I decided to restart QUIET RIOT in 2010, I knew it was going to be very difficult — both professionally and personally — because Kevin and I were best friends for 27 years.

"There was never a thought to replace the late, great Kevin DuBrow . That is impossible. Kevin was an amazing singer with a vocal range second to none. And as a performer, no one comes even close.

"My thought was to try to preserve the music and sound of QUIET RIOT as best I could. We went through four different singers over roughly a six-year period.

"In 2017, we brought on James Durbin , who — without a doubt — has proved to be the best singer we've had since revving up the engines in 2010. He's a really great vocalist, performer and — equally as important — a very nice person.

"I'm used to change in QUIET RIOT , not just the trials and tribulations with singers since Kevin 's passing, but during the entire 35-plus year history. I'm very happy to have James involved with us as long as he wants to be with QUIET RIOT ."

QUIET RIOT initially featured the late guitar legend Randy Rhoads and went through some early lineup shifts before securing the musicians that recorded the band's multi-platinum-selling 1983 album "Metal Health" .

Bassist Chuck Wright has been a part of QUIET RIOT , on and off, since 1982, having initially been involved in the "Metal Health" recordings (he played bass on the tracks "Metal Health" and "Don't Wanna Let You Go" ). Guitarist Alex Grossi was in the last version of the band, from 2004 through 2007, before Kevin passed away, and was asked by Banali to return in 2010.

QUIET RIOT went through two vocalists — Mark Huff and Scott Vokoun — before Pearl 's first three-year run with the band.

"Hollywood Cowboys" will be released on November 8 via Frontiers Music Srl .
