Old School Speed Metal veterans unleash “Am I Going Insane” and “Your Time Will Come” — both available now
Nothing Sacred are back in full force, carrying the torch of raw, fast, no-nonsense heavy metal straight out of the early wave that helped shape Australia’s underground scene.
The band’s explosive take on “Am I Going Insane” (Black Sabbath cover) was released on April 3rd, 2026. Their new original single “Your Time Will Come” followed on May 28th, 2026 — both releases are now available worldwide.
Formed in the early 1980s, Nothing Sacred emerged from Australia’s hard rock dominated landscape, pushing hard against the “pub rock” norm with a sharper, faster, NWOBHM-influenced edge. While bands like AC/DC and Rose Tattoo ruled the bars, Nothing Sacred helped carve out something heavier, faster, and more aggressive for the underground.
By 1986, their relentless live reputation landed them headlining the Metal for Melbourne festival, pulling over 1,400 fans and cementing their place in Aussie metal history.
Through the 80s, the band self-released cult favorites including the Deathwish EP and the Let Us Prey album, both recorded in just four days and now regarded as underground classics. The band’s story later intersected with members contributing to early Hobbs Angel of Death recordings, while the shifting 90s scene saw the group fade into semi-dormancy.
Fast forward to the 2000s and beyond, Nothing Sacred returned to active duty, reigniting interest through documentaries, international festival appearances, and a new wave of global recognition. Recent years have seen them share stages with heavyweights like Udo Dirkschneider, Metal Church, and Paul Di’Anno, plus tours across Europe and Japan.
Their 2026 output shows a band that refuses to slow down.
The Black Sabbath cover, originally recorded for an Ozzy tribute compilation benefiting Fight Parkinson’s, is a raw and crushing reinterpretation of a classic.
A statement from Sham explains it best:
“We picked this track as there’s not much you can do to the classic Black Sabbath tracks that could make them better than the original. This was the one track that could be open to interpretation and turned into just about anything which is exactly what we did.”
The result is a thunderous, heavy-as-hell tribute that stays true to the spirit of Sabbath while dragging it through the fire of Nothing Sacred’s speed metal identity.
Meanwhile, “Your Time Will Come” delivers something darker and more narrative driven. The track tells the story of a condemned man facing execution without fear or regret, transforming his suffering into legacy and defiance. It is a song about conviction, sacrifice, and the idea that belief does not die with the body.
Genre: Old School Speed Metal
FFO: NWOBHM, Motörhead, early Iron Maiden, Angel Witch, Tokyo Blade
All recording, mixing, mastering, and production handled by Sham.
Recent releases have been handled independently following prior partnerships with Rockshots Records, Dies Irae (South America), and Rue Morgue Records. The band plans to reassess label support after completing their next recording cycle.
The song is built around defiance in the face of judgment, turning execution into transformation. The character at its center refuses silence, refuses regret, and frames death as the beginning of something that outlives the body.
