Austria’s groove metal wrecking crew My Dark Fate return swinging hard with their brand new single, “Frightened To The Core,” released April 17, 2026. Trading covers for conviction, the band delivers an original track that cuts straight into the nerve of modern anxiety, fear culture, and digital-era manipulation.

Built on punishing seven-string riffs, thunderous rhythms, and a dynamic dual-vocal attack, “Frightened To The Core” blends groove metal weight with melodic death metal precision and a bleak, doom-laced atmosphere. About the Band

Founded by guitarist and songwriter Andreas Maierhofer of Lost Dreams, My Dark Fate has steadily carved out their identity with a crushing blend of groove metal and melodic death metal. After a full reboot in 2025, the band emerged sharper and heavier than ever, now featuring Marina (vocals, bass), Stefan (growls, guitar), Christian (drums), and Andreas (guitar, songwriting, production).

With a sound rooted in decades of Austrian metal experience, My Dark Fate delivers a cinematic, emotionally charged assault that will resonate with fans of Lacuna Coil, Jinjer, In Flames, Amaranthe, and Arch Enemy.

Following earlier releases like the haunting 2025 ballad “Whiteout” and their dark reimagining of “Paint It, Black,” “Frightened To The Core” marks a defining step forward, proving the band isn’t just experimenting with darkness anymore, they’re owning it.
