U.S. death metal cult legends DETERIOROT return with the definitive vinyl debut of Echoes From The Past , set for release February 4, 2026 via Faithless Entertainment, alongside a brand-new single, “Fallen Misery,” arriving January 30, 2026.

Recently praised by Blabbermouth as essential death metal history, Echoes From The Past documents nearly four decades of uncompromising underground devotion from one of America’s most respected and elusive death metal institutions. Known for their suffocating brutality, ominous atmosphere, and unwavering vision, DETERIOROT have long stood apart from trends, delivering death metal that is both punishing and epic.

Fronted by founding member Paul Zavaleta, DETERIOROT have maintained a singular identity since the late 1980s, blending raw aggression with slower, doom-laden passages rooted in traditional heavy metal. Blabbermouth highlighted the band’s ability to balance barbarity and grandeur, drawing comparisons to Immolation, Incantation, Disma, and My Dying Bride, while emphasizing that DETERIOROT remain unmistakably themselves.

ECHOES FROM THE PAST – VINYL DEBUT

This release marks the first-ever vinyl edition of Echoes From The Past and stands as the most complete and definitive archival presentation of DETERIOROT’s early era to date. This is not a reissue, but a distinct and expanded release, separating itself from previous versions through exclusive material and restored content.

Originally released on CD with limited selections from the band’s 2002 demo, this vinyl edition restores all five demo tracks in full for the first time . Also included is the entire 1993 7-inch EP Manifested Apparitions of Unholy Spirits , widely regarded as one of the most important and sought-after releases in early American death metal history.

Spanning early demo recordings, formative EP material, and classic live tracks, Echoes From The Past captures the evolution of a band that helped define the darker, more oppressive side of U.S. death metal.

NEW SINGLE: “FALLEN MISERY”

Exclusive to this release, DETERIOROT have recorded three new tracks , bridging past and present while remaining rooted in the band’s signature darkness and weight. These recordings are exclusive to the vinyl edition and the digital single, and will not be available on CD format.

The lead track, “Fallen Misery,” will be released as a vinyl and digital single on January 30, 2026, reinforcing the vinyl edition as the definitive format for new DETERIOROT material.
