DOOMHERRE – “Plaguelords”
Stockholm-based Doom trio Doomherre are being celebrated for their uncompromising dedication to classic Doom Metal. Their latest release, Plaguelords , is hailed as “Classic Doom From The North!” by Legacy. The album sees guitarist and vocalist Victor Takala, bassist Max Collin, and drummer Daniel Strachal refining their sound into a modern homage to the pioneers of Doom, including Trouble, Candlemass, The Obsessed, and Sleep.
Legacy praises Plaguelords for its “earthy, organic heavy sound that reveals soul and abyss alike,” noting that the band’s self-production approach allows complete creative freedom. Sweden’s Hexjakt continues to push boundaries with their dark, atmospheric journey through Doom, Sludge, and Stoner Metal. Their full-length album Blessing Of The Damned is described by Legacy as a release that “demands attention, time, and patience—but those who engage will be rewarded with a deep, dark, and artistically mature experience.”
The album balances hypnotic, bass-heavy openings with epic compositions, such as the more than eight-minute Void Throne , which alternates between oppressive heaviness and sudden thrashy outbursts. Hexjakt’s music is as ritualistic as it is emotionally charged, and the band’s dedication to the atmosphere of each song ensures a fully immersive listening experience.
ORBITAL HOTEL – “Missing Link”
Instrumental rock project Orbital Hotel delivers a cosmic, expansive soundscape with Missing Link . Spearheaded by José Luis Preza, the Austrian trio blends technical mastery, experimental psychedelica, and travel-inspired storytelling into a unique sonic universe. Legacy highlights the album’s “spacey grooves and instrumental virtuosity,” emphasizing the band’s ability to merge musical complexity with emotional depth.
Preza’s compositional approach is inspired by life experiences, science, and cosmic exploration, resulting in music that is both intellectually engaging and sonically captivating.
