DETERIOROT Unleashes Second Advance Single “In Battle to Survive” + Reveals Cover Art and Tracklist for Forthcoming Album Awakening

New Jersey/New York, USA – September 18, 2025 – Legendary US Death Metal veterans DETERIOROT have dropped their second advance single “In Battle to Survive” in the form of a crushing new lyric video. The track is taken from the band’s highly anticipated fourth full-length album, Awakening , which is set for release on October 21, 2025 via Xtreem Music on CD, 12" LP, cassette, and digital formats.

This new single follows the album’s first unveiled track and continues to showcase DETERIOROT’s trademark fusion of atmospheric Finnish/UK Death Metal tones, Swedish brutality, and raw NJ/NY intensity —a sound that has solidified their legacy since their origins in 1988 (then as Mortuary, becoming DETERIOROT in 1989).

Having shared the scene with influential acts such as Revenant, Ripping Corpse, Immolation, Incantation, and Mortician , founding member Paul Zavaleta (vocals, guitars, composer, songwriter) continues to drive the band’s vision forward, channeling pure darkness, heaviness, and atmosphere into Awakening .
