Hungarian avant-garde black metal outfit Táltos returns with their second full-length album, Országrák (Nation Cancer) , a ferocious, boundary-pushing exploration of rebellion and ancestral pride. Following a series of EPs that hinted at their uncompromising vision, this 10-track release cements Táltos as a singular force in extreme music, fusing black metal aggression with punk defiance and tribal ritual intensity.

The project, spearheaded by JesterOfDestiny , is accompanied by Damjan Stefanovićon on drums and Mauricio M on guitars, crafting a soundscape that is as primal as it is politically charged. From didgeridoo-driven atmospheres to shamanic drums and throat singing, Táltos evokes the mythic figure of the táltos , a shaman of Hungarian pagan tradition, channeling both ancestral heritage and relentless defiance against oppression.

Országrák confronts the dysfunction of modern society, tackling political and social corruption with a sound as diverse and unpredictable as human existence itself. Standout moments include an early release of a cover of a Hungarian punk classic, while the title track receives a unique low-budget visualizer set to Audiosurf footage. A lyric video for “La Culpa Es Nuestra” is also in the works, promising fans an immersive experience of the album’s unapologetic rage.
