FIERCE ATMOSPHERES DROP NEW ALBUM “THE STORY SO FAR” — FEATURING KING DIAMOND’S MATT THOMPSON ON DRUMS

Recorded in Sweden with Legendary Andy LaRocque — Out Spring 2026

Chicago, IL — Progressive power metal fans, brace yourselves. Fierce Atmospheres are about to blow the roof off with The Story So Far , their most epic, finely crafted album yet, set to drop Spring 2026. This record fuses the storytelling grit of classic metal with the brain-melting chops of prog rock, perfect for fans of Masterplan, Iron Maiden, Rush, and Queensrÿche.

Here’s the kicker — Matt Thompson, the powerhouse drummer behind King Diamond, delivers thunderous beats on the album. Recording kicks off in October 2025 at Sweden’s Sonic Train Studio with none other than guitar legend and producer Andy LaRocque (King Diamond) guiding guitars, bass, and vocals.

“This is a dream come true,” the band says. “Having Matt Thompson on drums and working with Andy LaRocque is the result of years grinding it out — every riff, every show, every mile led us here.”

That grind included two years performing as Abigail , their King Diamond tribute act, which not only sharpened their chops but helped bankroll this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Sweden.

On the live front, Nate Zihala now handles drums for all Fierce Atmospheres shows.

Alongside the upcoming album, the band recently released The Versailles Records Sessions , a covers collection available soon on their Bandcamp.

The Story So Far promises to be a defining chapter — a testament to perseverance, vision, and the pure unyielding power of metal.
