Hamburg, Germany – Prepare for a high-voltage collision of neoclassical shred and heavy metal mastery as Toby Knapp and Thomas Amoriello join forces on the upcoming split single Toby Knapp VS Amoriello (H42-080) — a limited edition 12” vinyl release from H42 Records , set to drop on August 16, 2025 .

Born just eleven days apart in 1972 and united by their deep love for neoclassical metal and dark melodic grooves, Knapp and Amoriello deliver a high-octane pairing of virtuosic guitar wizardry and metal tradition. The record features:

Toby Knapp (Shrapnel Records, Shredguy Records, Spectral Evidence Records) with the blistering Deep Purple-esque instrumental “House on Cult Corner” , showcasing his signature style honed across decades of genre-defining releases in power, death, and extreme metal.

Thomas Amoriello , known for his academic prowess and melodic metal craftsmanship, covers the Dio-era Black Sabbath gem “Country Girl” , featuring powerhouse Travis Wills (Crimson Glory) on vocals and a guest solo by Mike Wead (King Diamond / Mercyful Fate). Additional credits include Carlos Alvarez (bass), Anthony Stahl (keyboards), and James C. Knoerl (drums).
