Emerging from Long Island’s snarling underground, Electrocutioner return with their haunting new single “Frozen File” , available now via CDN Records. The track serves as a chilling prelude to the band’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Harbinger , due out Fall 2025.
Told from the perspective of a missing child whose case has gone cold, “Frozen File” is a dark and emotionally charged journey inspired by guitarist/vocalist Mark Pursino’s past work with at-risk youth—many of whom disappeared without closure.
“‘Frozen File’ is told from the viewpoint of a child who has been abducted and forgotten,” Pursino explains. “It’s a plea for closure—stuck in limbo between life and death, as the world moves on and their case becomes just another dusty file in a drawer.”
Dark, aggressive, and cinematic in scope, “Frozen File” previews the sonic evolution of Electrocutioner — blending razor-sharp thrash with horror-laced atmosphere and deeper lyrical introspection.
The trio — Mark Pursino (guitar/vocals/synth), Rich Nieves (bass), and Tyler Bogliole (drums) — draw from the legacy of East Coast thrash titans like Slayer, Whiplash, and Exorcist while forging their own path through tight songwriting, infectious gang chants, and synth-drenched dread.
Their upcoming album Harbinger amplifies everything introduced on their 2023 debut False Idols : faster tempos, sharper production, and more immersive horror-driven soundscapes. Each track is built on a riff-first foundation with lean, pit-ready arrangements designed to leave a mark.
From its opening blast to its apocalyptic finale, Harbinger isn’t just a follow-up — it’s a statement. Electrocutioner are torch-bearers for the New Wave of Old-School Thrash , dragging the genre into darker, more cinematic territory.
