Formed in 1985, Deceased are one of the longest-running and most revered American death metal bands. Having weathered every era of the genre—from its raw birth in the mid-'80s, through its explosion in the '90s, its fall from fashion in the 2000s, and its reawakening in recent years—the band has remained defiantly true to its spirit: death metal from the grave , without compromise or concern for trends.

Now, to mark four decades of relentless horror and sonic devastation, Deceased are unleashing a career-spanning compilation that does justice to their legacy. From the grim grandeur of their early classics, through the masterful storytelling of 2000’s Supernatural Addiction , to more recent slabs of death-thrash chaos, the collection captures everything that has made Deceased such a vital force.

Fans will be treated to essential cuts from every full-length and key EPs—including 1992’s The 13 Frightened Souls and 2001’s Behind the Mourner’s Veil . As if that weren’t enough, March of the Cadavers also includes:

Two brand-new tracks : “Dusted” and “Cure for the Grieving Widow”

Covers of Black Sabbath’s “Die Young” and Venom’s “Lady Lust”

Re-recordings of “March of the Cadavers” and “Sick Thrash” from their very first demo, The Evil Side of Religion

The collection is rounded out with detailed liner notes from founding vocalist and drummer King Fowley , who guides listeners through the graveyard of the band’s storied past.
