Allentown, PA – June 16, 2025 — Sonny Dai, the alternative metal band driven by the creative partnership of frontman John and bassist Calvin, has officially released their highly anticipated new EP The Arachnoid today. Available now on all major streaming platforms, the EP marks a bold new chapter in the band’s evolution—balancing emotionally raw intensity with a more hopeful lyrical direction.

Originally conceived as a solo project, Sonny Dai evolved into a fully realized band in March 2024 with Calvin’s arrival. While John continues to lead the charge in writing and production, Calvin’s input has been pivotal in refining the band’s sound and establishing its identity. “Sonny Dai wouldn’t be able to fully exist without Calvin,” says John. “What started as a personal outlet has grown into something much larger, thanks to his contributions.”

Sonny Dai’s music remains grounded in themes of isolation, addiction, mental health, and complicated relationships—but The Arachnoid represents a turning point. Where earlier work channeled grief, codependency, and self-doubt, this new release injects a sense of resilience, healing, and hope.
