Kitahrah (she/her), an inspiring blind artist and advocate of strength and resilience, unveils her debut single “Homesick” — a raw, emotional reimagining of the post-hardcore ballad originally performed by Dayseeker . Released on March 15, 2025 , this acoustic/metal fusion delivers haunting vocals, ambient soundscapes, and an empowering message that challenges limitations.
Born completely blind, Kitahrah has never let her disability define her. Instead, she’s used it as fuel to pursue her passion for music — from singing R&B and pop-rock as a child to performing in the world’s only blind marching band. Her debut release marks the beginning of a journey that promises heartfelt covers and original music driven by emotion and authenticity.
“Homesick” showcases Kitahrah’s soulful voice layered with dynamic arrangements produced by Scott Chesworth (who also plays bass), and delicate yet emotive keyboard work by Kevin Reeves . Her version reinterprets Dayseeker’s original with a unique vulnerability and personal depth, appealing to fans of Sleep Theory , Nate Vickers , and emotionally driven rock.
“Inability, not disability.” — Kitahrah’s guiding motto
While Kitahrah plans to continue exploring and recording covers, she is also working on original material that draws from personal experiences with love, struggle, and self-discovery. Offstage, she enjoys writing, baking, reading, and classic entertainment — from cartoons and vintage sitcoms to her favorite soap opera, General Hospital .
