New York-based Power Metal band Lost Legacy has weathered storms that would sideline lesser bands. Their 2020 release, In the Name of Freedom —out now via Pure Steel Records —landed just days before the global pandemic shut the world down. What was supposed to be a breakthrough moment, including a tour with DORO and others, was suddenly derailed.

“Everything changed overnight,” recalls Jorge Pulido , the band’s guitarist and executive producer of the album. “It was crushing. But we never gave up.”

Since 2022, Lost Legacy has fought to reignite their momentum. Navigating lineup changes and a struggling live music scene, they’ve been selective about appearances. A recent high-profile performance opening for Metal Allegiance at the House of Blues in Anaheim on January 23, 2025 , marked a bold return—and a triumph over adversity.

Capturing Chaos: The Live Video That Almost Wasn’t

Intent on documenting the Anaheim show in all its glory, the band came equipped with five cameras—three shooting in stunning 4K. But fate had other plans.

“One camera broke on the way, and another crashed mid-show,” Pulido explains. The real heartbreak came when the venue's audio engineer accidentally stopped recording the direct board audio. With no professional soundboard track to fall back on, the band had to improvise—crafting a final mix using only the audio captured by their remaining camera microphones.

“It wasn’t ideal,” says Pulido. “But we blended the raw mic feeds, EQ’d everything, and made it work. The result isn’t perfect—but it’s honest. It captures what we lived through that night.”

This raw, DIY footage not only showcases the band’s talent but their unwavering commitment to their craft—regardless of the odds.

About the Album

In the Name of Freedom was produced, mixed, and mastered by Tom Tullota , with executive production by Jorge Pulido. The album delivers a fist-pumping blend of heavy riffs and melodic storytelling, inspired by the spirit of liberty and the cost of defending it. Fans of Metal Church , Fates Warning , Metal Allegiance , and Testament will find plenty to love.

What’s Next for Lost Legacy?
