KRATORNAS Announces “Ravaged by Hurakaan” Vinyl and Cassette Demo Ahead of Upcoming Album God of the Tribes

Saskatoon-based extreme metal act KRATORNAS is poised to unleash two special format releases this spring, paving the way for the band’s forthcoming full-length album, God of the Tribes , set to drop on August 20, 2025 .

First up, May 20, 2025 will see the arrival of the 7" vinyl demo Ravaged by Hurakaan via Grathila Records . This will be followed by a remix cassette release on May 30, 2025 , offering fans two raw, unconventional glimpses into the new sonic era of Kratornas.

The band’s mastermind Bruno Zamora shares insight into the album’s creative direction:

“This album marks a turning point for KRATORNAS. Not because it tries to be ‘different,’ but because it couldn’t have come out any other way. Every part of this release came together naturally. The sound, the pacing, the tension... it wrote itself, shaped by instinct and intention. This album is unlike the usual Kratornas, so anyone expecting it to sound like ‘early Kratornas’ will be disappointed.”

A Glimpse Into the Storm

The upcoming 7" vinyl includes the track “Ravaged by Hurakaan” on Side A , with Side B featuring a drum and bass instrumental version of the same piece. This demo version is vinyl-exclusive , unavailable digitally, cementing its place as a collector’s item for die-hard Kratornas followers.

In parallel, a cassette version titled KRATORNAS – Ravaged by Hurakaan (Que Diablo Remix) , featuring DJ Aromaz , brings a dark electronic interpretation into the mix, alongside additional rare and unreleased tracks from the Kratornas vault. This cassette version is a 57-minute journey into past and present, recontextualized with exclusive mixes and selections.

Both the vinyl and the forthcoming album were mastered by legendary producer Dan Swanö (Edge of Sanity, Bloodbath), ensuring a powerful and dynamic sound.

An Evolution in Sound

“Ravaged by Hurakaan” will also appear as Track #3 on God of the Tribes , signaling a sharp shift in Kratornas’ musical evolution. Known for its superfast, raw brutality, Kratornas now delves into a more atmospheric and structured sound , emphasizing build-up, tension, and progression .

Zamora introduces new instrumentation into the fold, including 7-string guitars , 6-string fretless bass , and an overall shift away from the relentless blast beats of earlier material. Fans of black metal who lean toward the progressive and experimental will find this new material especially compelling.
